About the Role
Care Delivery
Provide person-centered care to 100% of allocated residents each shift by following their individual care plans accurately and reporting any changes in health, behaviour, or needs immediately to the Senior Carer or management.
Record Keeping
Complete all care notes, food/fluid charts, repositioning charts, and daily logs for allocated residents by the end of each shift with 100% accuracy and in line with company standards.
Resident Dignity and Respect
Maintain dignity, privacy, and choice for residents 100% of the time by following Alastair House’s values and demonstrating respectful care practices during every shift.
Health and Safety Compliance
Carry out all required infection control, moving and handling, and health and safety procedures every shift with 100% compliance, reporting any hazards to management immediately.
Mandatory Training Completion
Achieve and maintain 100% up-to-date status on all mandatory training modules (e.g., safeguarding, moving and handling, infection control), attending refresher sessions on time without reminders.
Team Collaboration
Attend and actively participate in at least 8 team meetings per year to stay informed about updates, share feedback, and contribute to a positive team environment.
Resident Engagement
Encourage and assist residents to participate in at least one activity or engagement opportunity per shift, recording participation in daily notes.
Safeguarding
Identify and immediately report any safeguarding concerns to the Senior Carer or management within 30 minutes of noticing or being informed of an issue.
Professional Conduct
Receive no more than one written warning related to conduct, timekeeping, or behaviour in a 12-month period by adhering to Alastair House policies and demonstrating professionalism at all times.
Continuous Improvement
Propose at least one idea every 6 months to improve resident care, teamwork, or work processes to your Senior Carer or Deputy Manager.
Confidentiality
Due to the nature of the work at Alastair House, the jobholder will have access to confidential and sensitive information about residents, their families, and staff. The job holder must not disclose any personal, medical, financial, or organisational information during or after employment, unless explicitly required by the law.
Requirements
In addition to the duties mentioned below, it is the job holder's responsibility to carry out individual tasks requested by their direct leader which are in the nature of job or deemed to be a necessity of the business.
